This article proposes to apply and interpret didactic strategies focused on three categories: emotional regulation, civic education, and peaceful coexistence, among eighth-grade students at the Crisanto Luque rural educational institution in the Samaria district of Filadelfia municipality (Caldas). A qualitative-interpretive approach was used, supported by participatory workshops, a patchwork quilt, and photo history, for data collection. Practical learning related to self-regulation and self-motivation was observed in students during the workshops. The applied strategies not only promoted civic education and emotional regulation but also strengthened peaceful coexistence, creating spaces where respect, empathy, and dialogue become pillars of collective learning. The article concludes that the school should be a space for ethical and affective transformation, where learning is integrated with human development, democratic participation, and peacebuilding.
