Resumen
La presente investigación tiene como objetivo analizar las competencias digitales de los adultos mayores y comprender la brecha digital en esta población, a partir de la implementación de estrategias de educación tecnológica adaptadas a sus necesidades y contextos, en el municipio de Quibdó, Chocó. Metodológicamente, se desarrolló un estudio de enfoque cualitativo descriptivo bajo la modalidad de estudio de caso instrumental, con una muestra intencional de 20 adultos mayores. Para la recolección de información se emplearon técnicas como encuestas diagnósticas, entrevistas semiestructuradas, observación participante y diario de campo, permitiendo una triangulación de datos. Entre los resultados más relevantes, se evidenció que la alfabetización digital no solo fortalece habilidades técnicas, sino que contribuye significativamente al bienestar, al incrementar la autonomía, la autoconfianza y la participación social, reduciendo el aislamiento y favoreciendo procesos de inclusión en entornos digitales.
This study aims to analyze the digital competencies of older adults and to understand the digital divide affecting this population through the implementation of technology education strategies adapted to their needs and contexts in Quibdó, Chocó. Methodologically, the research employs a qualitative descriptive approach, utilizing an instrumental case study design with an intentional sample of 20 older adults. Data collection techniques included diagnostic surveys, semi-structured interviews, participant observation, and field notes, allowing for methodological triangulation. The most significant findings reveal that digital literacy not only strengthens technical skills but also contributes substantially to well-being by enhancing autonomy, self-confidence, and social participation. Additionally, it reduces social isolation and promotes inclusion in digital environments, highlighting the transformative potential of technology in improving the quality of life of older adults.
