info:eu-repo/semantics/article2025Ítem Restringido “Fortaleciendo la educación socioemocional en los estudiantes de 7º grado de la IED San José de Kennedy para mejorar la convivencia y el éxito académico.”Lavalle Durán , Lizeth Johana; Sarmiento Leal , Rosa Elvira; Ureche Algarín , Matilde Liliana; Velásquez Juvinao, Evely Margarita; Calderón González, Marco Felipe; Grupo de Investigación Educación y Pedagogía: Saberes, Imaginarios e Intersubjetividades; Línea de Investigación Educación y PedagogíaThis systematization, conducted at the San José de Kennedy Educational Institution (Zona Bananera, Magdalena, Colombia), focuses on strengthening the socio-emotional skills of seventh-grade students as a strategy to improve school coexistence and academic performance. The study began by identifying problems related to lack of motivation, interpersonal conflicts, apathy toward learning, and low academic achievement, which were linked to adverse family and socioeconomic conditions. Using a qualitative and participatory approach, the process incorporated techniques such as observation, semi-structured interviews, and experiential workshops that promoted active and collaborative learning. Implemented strategies (including talking circles, personal strengths workshops, gratitude journals, and expressive activities) contributed to progress in emotional self-regulation, empathy, resilience, and motivation, while also enhancing the school climate. Findings confirm that socio-emotional education, when integrated in a contextualized manner into the pedagogical process, is essential for the comprehensive development of students in vulnerable contexts, fostering both well-being and academic achievement. This experience provides a replicable model of intervention that highlights the role of schools as spaces for support, socio-emotional development, and community building.
