Abstract
The role of organizations in promoting sustainable tourism to strengthen regional development is systemic and complex, as the region becomes an active agent where organizations interact as a driving force for innovation and structural change, guided by the principles of sustainability. The objective of this study was to understand the administrative practices of organizations producing bizcocho de achira in the village of Fortalecillas, Neiva, Huila, and their potential contribution to strengthening sustainable tourism, based on Renée Bédard’s Philosophical Diamond theory—a model that examines organizational action from four dimensions: philosophical, praxeological, epistemological, axiological, and ontological. The methodological approach was qualitative and interpretive in nature, employing three data collection techniques: a literature review, non-participant observation conducted at seven production organizations, and a semi-structured interview with a medium-sized company in the sector. The results provide an in-depth analysis of organizations that produce bizcocho de achira, particularly micro-organization, which operate on a subsistence basis, relying on tacit knowledge passed down through generations that lacks systematization or a heritage narrative to enhance its tourism value; despite this, the coexistence of more formalized organizations within the same territorial ecosystem demonstrates that a transition to more structured practices is possible. These elements served as input for the FODA analysis, which revealed a favorable environment with concrete opportunities related to institutional management and the positioning of the Achira Route as a regional tourism product.
